About Cactus

This is me, a qualified native teacher with experience in Spanish classes for foreigners (ELE).

Ester

Ester is from Almería (Spain). She started teaching Spanish in 2012 in Cairo (Egypt) where she founded the Allugat Spanish Center. She also taught at Ain Shams and 6th October universities. Ester speaks Arabic, English, and a little bit of Dutch. She loves animals, plants, and books. Her hobbies are climbing, cycling, and swimming.

Cactus Academia came up in 2017 when, after a few years apart, our lives crossed again in the Netherlands. We both carried backpacks full of dreams and motivation. The first thing we did: to choose a name for our company that represent us. That's how Cactus appeared. And, why the name of this plant? We both love plants. Our families are very connected to the field of agriculture and we are from Almería, - famous for its desert and its cinematic landscapes-. Also, learning a language can be like a cactus, very beautiful at first glance, although the process can become a very thorny experience. Especially if you don't follow a method that suits you, or you don't feel comfortable with your teacher.

Step by step our idea was rooting. And we can say that 2020 has brought us the opportunity to start this project in which we have put so much effort and dedication.
